Plastics > Engineering Plastic Sheet and Shapes > Polystyrene - Cross-Linked
Polystyrene - Cross-LinkedCross-Linked Polystyrene is a rigid, transparent insulating material made by a chemical cross-linking
process. In contrast with other high temperature, ultra-high frequency dielectrics, Cross-Linked Polystyrene
rigidity and ability to resist deformation under load is extremely important where assembled insulators must withstand
compression without yielding and loosening over long periods of time.
Typical applications of Cross-Linked Polystyrene are UHF, VHF and microwave insulators and communication
and electronic equipment. It also has good impact strength, outstanding dielectric properties, high radiation
resistance and is resistant to load deformation.
